Ward Park covers an area of 37 acres and among its attractions are a childrens playground, all weather hockey pitches, cricket pitch, rugby pitch, bowling greens, putting green and tennis courts. It also has a chain of small lakes providing wildfowl sanctuary with many interesting specimens and dry pens containing a large variety of exotic birds. There are also beautifully kept gardens and walkways. A guide to the wildlife Trail is available at the Heritage Centre.
The cache area has found a new use - that of open air concert venue!
You are looking for a magnetic nano cache, so bring your own pen. There is parking roadside, very close to the cache, or in the carpark for the playing fields.
There are two more caches within walking distance, 'Signs signs and more signs!' and 'Park Ward (In)'.
