🇩🇪 ⚙️ Ein kurzer Mitschnitt vom Laufburschen Otto (im Mai 1908) ⚙️
*„Mahlzeit! Wer sind Sie denn? Watt n Lärm! Watt? Ick vasteh' keen Wort! Die Maschinen inna Fabrik inne Höfe rattern wiedamal wie varrückt. Höhrste ja bis hier. Hinten flucht’n Kutscher inne Durchfahrt. Mann mann mann. Kannste nur noch de Luft anhalten, is ja zum schneiden. Det stinkt heute wie nüscht jutet – Maschinenöl, Leder und denn noch die Klosetts!
Ick sollte ma beeilen. Die janzen Kisten hier müssen noch in‘n Vierten zur Knopffabrik. Autsch, autsch, autsch! So eene Hölle, tut dit weh! Ick hab mir ’ne Blase jeloofen, weil heute morjen meene zweite Socke weg war. Drecksmist! Vadammta... Dit Leder vom Stiefel reibt direkt uffe Haut. Wenn der Meester sieht, dat ick humple, krieje ick een mörder Ärja... ja ja desselben ooch – schön' Tach noch!“*
🗺️ Zum Cache:
🏪 Heute vor Ort: Die Fabriken sind schon lange weg. Heute seht Ihr auf der Rosenthaler Straße die üblichen "Verdächtigen": die gehobenen Ketten- und Marken-Stores. Wenn Ihr aber in den historischen Komplex der Hackeschen Höfe eintaucht, werdet Ihr merken: Die Zeit der Etagen-Klos sind lange vorbei. Die Mietwohnungen haben inzwischen alle ihr eigenes Bad und Klo. Es gibt viele hübsche kleine Läden mit oft einzigartigen und meistens regionalen und handgemachten Dingen. Hier könnt Ihr übrigens auch getrost Essen und Trinken: die Restaurationen sind wunderbarerweise absolut keine Touristen-Fallen.
🕵️♂️ Die Suche: Über die Dekaden ist irgendwo in der Gegend doch noch etwas von Otto zurück geblieben, das ihr finden könnt, wenn Ihr genau hinseht. „Passt auf die Muggel auf“ wäre an einem solchen Ort wohl zu viel verlangt; es gibt hier ein paar extra Schwierigkeits-Punkte wegen der vielen Muggel, die hier zu jeder Tages- und Nachtzeit lauern.
🎭 Tipp: Berlin ist allerdings auch voller exzentrischer Persönlichkeiten, also denkt Euch was aus, um den Cache zu bergen – verhaltet Euch beim Finden einfach selbstbewusst und ohne Scheu in der quirligen, seltsamen Mischung der Passanten. Eine gute Zeit zum Cachen (mit möglichst wenigen Muggels) könnte am Wochenende früh morgens sein.

There's a driver cursin' down in the archway. Blimey, you can only hold yer breath, the air's that thick you could cut it with a knife. Stinks somethin' awful today – machine oil, leather, and then them toilets!
Better get a wiggle on. All these crates need to go up to the fourth floor to the button factory. Ouch, ouch, ouch! Hell's bells, that hurts! Got myself a proper blister 'cause my second sock went missin' this mornin'. The boot leather is rubbin' straight against the skin. If the master sees me limpin', I'm in for a world of trouble... yeah, yeah, same to you – 'ave a good day then!“*
🗺️ About the Cache:
🏪 The Location Today: The factories are long gone. Today on Rosenthaler Straße, you’ll see the "usual suspects" of upscale chain and brand stores. But once you dive into the historic complex of the Hackesche Höfe, you will notice: the days of shared toilets on the hallway are long past. By now, all the apartments naturally have their own private bathroom and toilet. There are many charming little shops filled with unique, often local, and handmade items. By the way, you can confidently grab a bite or a drink here: wonderfully enough, the restaurants are absolutely not tourist traps.
🕵️♂️ The Hunt: Yet, over the decades, something of Otto has remained behind after all in the wider area, which you can find if you look closely. Asking you to "watch out for muggles" would be an understatement here; there are a few extra difficulty points due to the crowds of muggles lurking around at all hours of the day and night.
🎭 Hint:However, Berlin is full of eccentric characters, so just come up with a clever way to retrieve the cache – just act confidently and without hesitation in the lively, peculiar mix of passers-by while finding it. A good time to cache with as few muggles as possible might be early morning on weekends.
