John Kinley Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

RebelGTP: I believe that it's time to let this one go. The area has gotten a bit worse and the container goes missing more and more frequently.

Geocache Description:

The Kishwaukee Street Corridor Revitalization.

Congratulations cache2cache for FTF.

Welcome to John Kinley Park

The Kishwaukee Street Corridor Revitalization Project has started transforming the area. The roadway has been expanded and rebuilt completly. The nearby Rockford Supportive Living Senior Housing and Orton Keyes Rockford Housing Authority replace some of the aging homes. New street lighting has been added and many businesses have had face-lifts also. The mix of Commercial and Residental properties will always prove a challange, but the entire area has a new look. The John Kinley Park was also presurved here at 18th ave, as they continue their plan to "ensure that some residential character will remain in this section of Kishwaukee Street". *

This park has a central raised area engraved with "John Kinley Park" in large letters that used to be replanted each year with flowers, but lately keeping it mowed seems to be a challenge.

There is an interesting piece of artwork here too.

(Not recommended at night due to residential proximity)

Where have all the flowers gone?
