Nizerolles	La Fontaine du Lion

Une fontaine dans un hameau, c'est un lieu de ralliement, d'instants de vie partagés.
C'est le cas de cette fontaine-abreuvoir, du 19ème siècle, dite du Lion, trône fièrement dans le hameau du même nom, près du bourg de Nizerolles.
L'eau provient d'une source captée dans un pré voisin. Les bacs qui entourent la fontaine servaient à faire boire les animaux. Quelques femmes y lavaient leur linge, dit-on.
On remarque également deux barres parallèles pour poser le seau et faciliter son remplissage.

A fountain in a hamlet, it is a meeting place, shared moments of life.
This applies to the fountain-trough of the 19th century, known as the Lion, stands proudly in the hamlet of the same name, near the town of Nizerolle.
The water collected from a source in a nearby meadow. Bins that surround the fountain used to drink the animals. Some women were washing their clothes, they say.
We also note two parallel bars to raise the bucket and make it easier to fill.
