This cache is to honor our very first logged find on 7/11/09, Easy Peasy PNG #3 GC1K1HW previously at this same location. We hit our 1,000th find on 6/1/11 with How bout these Apples GC16Q52 also in Springfield. We end most our logs with “Thanks for the fun!” because that’s what it’s all about. Geocaching gives us all a reason to Go out and Play. We want to thank our top 5 cache find owners as of this date that helped us reach our 1000th cache: TeddyR, boydfamily, Dresselmania, bennet, & MadDash4Cache.
You can reach this magnetic key holder from the sidewalk 24/7 or from inside the cemetery from 7:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M (5 P.M. in winter) daily. No dogs or beverages allowed outside the car. Ferncliff Cemetery & Arboretum contains 240 acres with cliffs, waterfalls, ponds, and over 50 tree species. The “SH” in the cache name above signifies a Spirit Hunt, for area caches in cemeteries or memorial gardens.
Please carry extra log sheets and tiny zip baggies in your geo-bag to maintain caches. Several sizes of log sheets can be printed from geocacher-u.com under downloads and printables.
