Blandings Turtle (Emydoidea blandingi)
The blandings turtle reaches lengths of 15 - 25 cm. It has a high domed, brown to black carapace (shell) with yellow flecks. The blandings long neck and lower jaw are bright yellow.
The turtle can be found living in shallows, ponds and marshes with soft bottoms and abundant aquatic vegetation.
It is an uncommon turtle that can be found in southern Ontario.
