Geocache Description:

Simple trad find nearby the home of the rare Canterbury knobbled weevil.

Welcome to the general area of the home of the Hadramphus tuberculatus aka Canterbury knobbled weevil. The little blighter was rediscovered in 2004 somewhere in this reserve after last being seen in 1922, having been thought extinct.

They are about 16mm long, live in Spaniards and only live here. This PDF has a bit more info: (visit link)

Anyhow, as they love Spaniards, you probably don't want to go looking for them. The cache is well away from their known location and not near any Spaniard bush. Drive down the road to the gate and walk the 20m to GZ. The cache is a 200ml Systema.
