Geocache Description:

this cache is placed as close to the end of the original route 22 that you can no longer drive on but can still walk on at least to where the big rocks are that keep you from falling into the loyalhanna river. You can park off of the road for this cache when we placed it we parked at the gun shop in the back (this used to be the original bank in New Alexandria.

I'm calling this the Frogtown-New Alexandria bridge because i grew up here in what everyone calls Frogtown even tho it is actually a part of New Alexandria. The bridge was actually a part of the original route 22 up until 1936 when the bridge flooded and they changed the elevation of the bridge by moving it to where route 22 is now because of the loyalhanna dam project which made this area a part of the flood plain.

this is a link that tells you about the flood the ruined the bridge that was a part of the original route 22

This is a link that shows pictures of the area around where the bridge was and the bridge itself.
