I Kättelvik har slipstenstillverkningen pågått i ungefär 100 år. Här har handhuggeriet hållit sig längst. I dag kan endast en handfull människor konsten att hugga en slipsten. For 100 år sedan kunde de flesta det.
Sandstenshuggeriet var en viktig näring för Sudret. Många livnärde sig så gott som helt på det. I dag sker tillverkningen av slipsten maskinellt i Burgsvik, med en tillverkning av 30-40.000 slipstenar om året.
Cachen er et pet-rör, så vänligen medtag en penna till loggningen.

In Kättelvik production of grindstones has been in progress for abt. 100 years. Here the hand-cutting has been going on for the longest time. Today only a handful of people are able to cut a grindstone. Abt. 100 years ago most people could do it.
Cutting of sandstones was an important industry for the area (Sudret). Many people were living of it. Today the production of grindstones is mechanical in Burgsvik with a production of 30-40.000 grindstones per year.
