TJK Halfpenny Bridge Traditional Cache
Tobyjugkenobi: I was running late on Thursday and therefore didn't get a chance to visit the site and check up on the cache as planned. I don't pass by this area as much as I used to so I have decided to archive this one.
Next time I am passing, I'll stop by and pick up the container.

The bridge is approachable from both north and south along the canal towpath, although the southern approach is more suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, etc.
The cache that you are looking for is a magnetic black nano.
The reason for choosing this site to place a cache is very simple, I was produced the original tender drawings for the bridge and was also the Resident Engineer during the construction works on site.
The bridge consists of a steel bowstring with a suspended deck. The bowstring itself has a span of 39.000m from pin to pin and the overall weight of the bridge steelwork is approximately 36.3 tonnes.
The cache is located on the bridge deck, so there is no need to venture underneath the bridge or outside the parapets!!
Be careful when replacing the cache, there are drainage gaps to the edges of the bridge deck.
