Clifton Circular 1 - Hot Cross Buns Traditional Cache
TheStickyLabel: After much thought and to my regret, I have decided to put this series to rest for several reasons.
1.. The problems that are occurring with the farm dogs (the public footpath runs through here). Two people have been bitten that I know of.
2.. The cows that are around are becoming more intimidating.
3.. The sheep have been known to be a bit aggressive.
4.. The dog in the courtyard (between 15 and 16) that the public footpath runs through is not over friendly and is always there.
5.. The MUD!!!! This has at certain times forced walkers to retreat and give up.
I myself, have become very wary now of the animals when checking my caches, sadly, this one has to go - a shame as it is in a quiet, un-spoilt part of our lovely countryside.

CLIFTON CIRCULAR
This circular walk of 21 caches with a Little Bridges cache included, starts off in the sleepy village of Clifton near East Down, North Devon where all you will find is a Public House, village hall, post box, telephone box, a couple of farms and some quaint cottages.
I am naming this walk the Clifton Circular and all the caches are named after nursery rhymes as I used to love them as a child and as my family already know, I am a bit sad and mad!
Anyway, YOU MIGHT WISH TO WEAR WELLIES on this walk as there are several very muddy patches of land and one extremely very deep muddy area between caches 8 and 9 in a gateway that is unavoidable. It is like quicksand so please be very careful and don't leave your wellies behind as the mud tries to suck you down!
Other than that, you should really enjoy this little walk which takes roughly 2 hours give or take.
You will encounter plenty of livestock so PLEASE, dogs on leads!
There are:
15 metal gates
6 wooden gates
1 set of steep stone steps - not particularly dog friendly
1 set of steep wooden steps - not particularly dog friendly
2 wooden stiles - unfortunately not dog friendly
Not having a dog myself, I wouldn't know if these could be tackled - I would say not unless you can pick your dog up.
Please take your litter home with you.
Please leave any gates as you find them.
Please keep to the public right of way throughout the walk, thank you.
There is FREE car parking at the Village Hall and I would say there are just enough ups and downs with a little bit of quiet country lane walking while the rest is woodland, fields and running streams with some wonderful views.
There is a waypoint after Clifton Circular 7 - Pussycat, Pussycat (GC2YD3C)
Have fun!!
