A stroll around a public esplanade that gives good views and peep through a razor wire fence into old bunkers. Cache is 200ml sistema clip seal container. Must bring own pen or pencil.
Can be muddy in winter.
This cache is actually on the shores of an inlet that is geographically correctly called "Bomb Bay". You will understand why as you can see the old bomb storage bunkers through the fence.
This must the smallest sandy beach I've visited.
Access is along a public esplanade, a walking trail outside the razor wire fence that encloses Bomb Point old ammunition bunkers. The esplanade can be accessed by foot or bicycle.
The western end of the fence has now been opened to the public so the ammunition bunkers can be explored.
Hobsonville Point Rd and Boundary Road gives vehicle access the western part of the fence.
Vehicle access from Clarke Road has been disrupted until more roads are created.
First to Find goes to funkymunkyzone, in the dark and rain, within a couple of hours of cache being posted.
