Geocache Description:

THE POSTED COORDINATES ARE COMPLETELY BOGUS, AND NOTHING AT THE LOCATION WILL HELP YOU SOLVE THE PUZZLE

The Digital Dilemma begin on June 12th 2009 when full power analog stations were quieted forever. Sure you could get a converter box, but with nearly 99 million analog television sets in the US this caused a problem. With most people opting to buy a new television set, that leads to many sets being discarded into landfills. Not only is this taking up landfill space, there are many non-biodegradable materials in a television set.

The most dangerous of those is lead, the average television set contains around 8 pounds of lead, mostly contained in the cathode ray tubes, and other materials like barium, cadmium, and chromium.

But not to fear, most if not all of these older sets are able to be recycled. Sadly by recycled, I mean the 2% that are are mostly sent to other countries like Malaysia, where the re-manufacture television sets, for resale to the local population that still receive analog television signals.

I'm not saying that buying that new big screen digital television is a bad thing, but like all things that we consume, be mindful of it's or it's replacements final demise and what consequence that it might possibly have on our environment.

Remember the old "this is a test" tones and stripes on your old beloved television set? Well those are now gone as well, below is an example of the new multicolored kaleidoscope of colors to make you all goggly eyed if you stare at it to long. Well I started at this one way, way to long. In doing so however, I was able to come up with a set of coordinates. So now it's your turn to take a look at the real digital dilemma you are now faced with to find the cache.
