Geocache Description:

Call this a small micro or big nano, located on a wide spot along a sidewalk in Santa Clara. Like all the "Lunch" hides, this is intended to be a quick find on a break in your day. You will need to bring a writing stick and maybe a TOTT to extract the log. Traffic on Lafayette St. can be heavy, so be careful if you bring small children here.

For many years, Don Von Raesfeld was the city manager of Santa Clara, as well as a strong advocate for the city's publicly owned electric system, now called "Silicon Valley Power". It's fitting that the electric generation plant at the intersection of Duane Avenue and Lafayette Street was named after him.

The cache is located along a little known and seldom used section of sidewalk. It is above ground level. Note that tree cover and walls will interfere with GPSr reception somewhat, these coordinates were averaged from readings taken at different times over a few days. Parking is not allowed on Lafayette St. The waypoint given is a spot on Duane where street parking is legal, though the posted signs are trying very hard to discourage you. Traffic backs up from the intersection at Central, so proper stealth is advised. Ground cover is NOT PO, probably not a good vintage either.

6/23/11- Adjusting difficulty down. Sun angle can help or hurt your search.

Congratulations to kablooey for the FTF
