One of our Odysseus caches. Our first cache was placed in Kefalonia, close to the island of Ithaca and home to King Odysseus. GC1WEN6 This is a simple find, once you have completed the puzzle, linked to our series of caches based on the story of Odysseus. This cache contains the Westings for the bonus cache.
The cache is not at the listed co-ordinates.
This part of the story comes almost at the end of The Odyssey.
At this point in the tale, Odysseus has returned home to Ithaca in a disguise. He discovers that his wife, Penelope has been beseiged by the local noblemen who want her to declare him dead and choose one of them for her husband. On arrival home he finds they have demanded that Penelope choose one of them! She decides to set them the challenge of stringing the bow of Odysseus and then firing an arrow through 12 axe heads. They make attempts at doing this and fail, dramatically. Out from their midst steps the stranger, Epiritus. He threads the bow and fires the arrow. Hurrah! The disguise vanishes and all recognise Odysseus amongst them. Oo-er! Can you help Odysseus?
