Geocache Description:

Another in the series started by Mr Nibbler.

Barley is a small picturesque village a few miles to the south-east of Royston in Hertfordshire. The memorial lies at the south end of the High Street at the junction with the Chishill and London Roads.

There are some interesting buildings in the village including fine examples of early Tudor architecture and adjacent to the memorial itself a 17th century timber frame lock up. Looking left, to the east, is an extremely unusual pub sign that straddles the road.

Barley is a small and quite place and it can only be imagined the impact of so many local men not returning from conflicts abroad.

The cache is not on the memorial, the lock up or the unusual sign. BYOP.
