PGE Arena Gdansk to jeden z obiektów sportowych budowanych w zwiazku z Mistrzostwami Europy w Pilce Noznej Euro 2012, które maja rozgrywac sie w Polsce i na Ukrainie. Poczatkowo, gdy nie wyloniono sponsora tytularnego, projekt nosil nazwe Baltic Arena, czyli Arena Baltycka. Przetarg na nazwe, logo oraz elewacje stadionu wygrala Polska Grupa Energetyczna. Umowa pomiedzy Miastem a sponsorem podpisana zostala 25 maja 2010 roku. Opiewa na kwote 35mln zl i okreslona zostala na 5 lat od roku 2010. Autorem koncepcji architektonicznej jest niemieckie biuro Rhode-Kellermann-Wawrowsky z Düsseldorfu. Firma zaprojektowala m.in. takie stadiony jak Veltins-Arena w Gelsenkirchen oraz AWD-Arena w Hanowerze. Budowa stadionu rozpoczela sie juz w roku 2008. Obiekt powstaje w gdanskiej dzielnicy Letnica, na terenie bylych ogródków dzialkowych. Stadion ma swoim wygladem nawiazywac do widoku bursztyna. Ten bowiem uwazany jest za symbol calego Pomorza. Jego wymiary to 236 m dlugosci, 204 m szerokosci i 45 m wysokosci. Zadaszone trybuny maja pomiescic ok. 41 tys. kibiców. W czasie trwania mistrzostw rozegrane na nim beda 3 spotkania grupowe i 1 cwiercfinal. Oprócz bazy sportowej, kompleks ma zawierac baze hotelowa, sale konferencyjne, punkty gastronomiczne i kaplice. Polozenie obiektu wyznacza trójkat, którego wierzcholki to stare miasto, lotnisko i stocznia. Koszty budowy stadionu wyniosly dotychczas 687mln zl z czego: projekt 33mln, budowa 522mln, uzyskanie gruntu 30mln i prace ziemne 30 mln zl.
