This is part one of a series of four caches, located alongside the perimeter of Arncliffe playing fields and along pathways adjacent to the Trans-Pennine Trail. Once part of the former Cheshire Lines railway, the ‘Loop Line’ as it was known, formerly took rail traffic from Aintree via a circular route around Liverpool and back into the city, or further East and onwards to Warrington and beyond via a junction just to the East of Hunts Cross.
The caches are not actually on the Trans Pennine Trail path itself, but are placed on pathways or fields running adjacent to the trail. All can be accessed via the trail, but easier access can be gained from the Arncliffe playing fields entrance on Arncliffe Road. There are other entrances nearby too, all of which you can park at if you wish.
The cache.
This cache is now a replacement for the original, which was muggled, so its now a different type of container, but it is still in the original location. You should be able to see some tiny imitation ladybird eggs on the surface of the container if you look very closely. You may need tweezers to retrieve the log from the container. Please ensure to replace container securely. No spoiler pics for this one please folks, they will be deleted to protect the cache, thanks.
High risk muggle activity is likely, especially at weekends, so stealth may be required when searching for these caches.
