From one point to another. . . Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

pinkpigredrat: When I visited the cache a couple of weeks ago, the original lid had been replaced by a different one.

Went to the site today and found the cache without any lid on it and pushed quite far into a hole in the post (not quite it's original hiding place, although I have found it there before)

I did manage to get it out of the hole after a good few minutes, but no sign of the lid. I think this little container has come to the end of its life and seen as the reason for the cache was mostly based around the container I'm not going to replace.

Thanks to those who found it, I already have the begginings of a new container to place somewhere in the area, hopefully in the near future.

Geocache Description:

A non-standard nano cache about 1.2 miles north of Nottingham city centre. Shouldn't be too hard to find. It's accessible form the pavement and suitable for children and wheelchairs, although some of the roads round there do have quite steep gradients.

Parking is available on streets nearby and regular bus services run along nearby, Mansfield Road and Woodborough Road.

Recently while completing MEROVINGIAN-GOLD's Spurn Point earth cache GC2CHDB (well worth a visit if you're ever in that area) I randomly found this container on the floor. Not sure what it was originally made for, but with the addition of a magnet & bolt it's turned into quite a nice little custom made nano cache.

Cache itself is marginally bigger than the standard nano containers. It has a rubbery lid which pulls off rather than screws.

To keep a bit of a tenuous link to Spurn Point going I've placed it very near a road called 'The Point' (It's not actually on that road because I couldn't find a suitable site).

WHEN YOU'VE FOUND THE CACHE: The log comes out of the cache by pulling the end of the bolt. The log is taped onto the bolt at one end, please don't separate the two!

WHEN REPLACING: Wind the log back round the bolt and put it back into the container.

~~ This will make sense when you see the cache! ~~

I think there should be some sort of prize for the first person to complete this cache and the Spurn Point one. Although I haven't thought of a prize or a way of getting a prize to the winner. I might give you a mention on this cache page if you do manage it though!

***** Well done to the 'Jacaru' & 'Wemnog' for being the first to find! *****
