Als je nu over de Enneus Heermabrug (BH brug) komt rijden is het slecht voor te stellen dat je eind vorige eeuw hier zo het water in zou rijden. De eerste bewoner betrok zijn huis in november 2002.
Het project IJburg bestaat uit 2 fasen. Fase 1 bestaat uit drie kunstmatige eilanden, Steigereiland waar je IJburg binnenkomt, Haveneiland het grootste eiland direct na het Steigereiland en de Rieteilanden waar u op terecht komt als u bij een van de stoplichten op het Haveneiland rechtsaf slaat. Deze fase is nagenoeg afgerond.
Fase 2 is nu vol in ontwikkeling en dat is het deel aan de zijde van Pampus.
Door de ligging aan het IJmeer weten strandgasten en kitesurfers IJburg goed te vinden.

If you are on the Enneus Heerma bridge (Bra bridge), it is difficult to imagine that you would drive in the water here at the end of the last century. The first residents start living here in November 2002.
The IJburg project is build up in 2 phases. Phase 1 exist out of 3 artificial islands, 'Steigereiland' were you enter IJburg, 'Haveneiland' the second island and the 'Rieteilanden' that is accesible by going right at one of the traficlights on the Haveneiland. Phase 1 is nearly completed.
Phase 2 is now in full development at the IJmeer side.
Because of the location at the IJmeer, IJburg is popular for beach visitors and kite surfers.
