Geocache Description:

According to a nearby plaque, on October 29, 1969 24 people lost their live when a magnitude 5 earthquake struck the area and collapsed the bridge they were travelling on. The remnants of which can be seen from Rt. 9. Whether the story is true is still up for debate as no locals remember such an event. I've included a waypoint for the plaque which is a short distance from the cache. Also, park at the designated waypoint and not on Rt. 9.

The old Rt. 9 roadbed or Block Plant road as it's listed on most maps was deeded to the Town of Clifton Park and no part of it is Private Property. National Grid does have an easement for acces to their power lines and may have issues with someone walking by when they are working on them. Safety is thier only concern.
