Geocache Description:

Ten Mile River (TMR) is the largest local boy scout camp in the United States. The reservation is comprised of over 14,000 acres and was founded in 1927. The southern section of the property was originally called the Delaware Division and was used primarily by scouts of Brooklyn.

This section of the property is no longer actively used as a scout camp and we have opened it for limited use by the public...and geocaching is one of the uses that fits with the management plan.

Camp Kunatah was on the shores of Rock Lake and it opened in 1928. Until it closed in the mid-2000's, it was one of the only Kosher feeding scout camps in the United States.

The cache is an ammo can that contains lots of treasures.

You may drive into the grassy area or park along the road. Sections of the Cohecton Turnpike Road are often impassible during the winter season although access is usually available from Mahl's Pond Road. Great sleigh riding can be had on the nearby hills.

The cache is over the wooden bridge and up the rocky shore of the stream. Bushwacking is required for the last 100 feet.

This cache was placed with the permission of Sean Quinn, Director of Ten Mile River Scout Camps.
