This is a second cache placed along Astoria Road as you head back to the new boat access area. If the wind is right, you might catch some interesting odors in the air. The cache is very small, so please bring your own pen.
I again had trouble getting accurate coordinates from my GPS on this even though the tree cover was not that bad. I entered the coordinates into Google Earth and it showed the cache on the opposite side of the road. Please check the hints for help if you have difficulty. Also, please share your coordinates if you find mine to be off by a substantial distance.
Once you make the find, I would encourage you to continue down the road to the new boat access area to enjoy the beauty of the Roanoke River. The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission did a wonderful job on this facility and I enjoy the view of the river from the fishing dock.
