Located at Story County Conservation's new bridge carrying the Heart of Iowa Trail over the Skunk River.
Story County Conservation did a great job here. The concrete piers from the 1911 Milwaukee Road railroad bridge were still in place, and the plan was to reuse them, but years of deterioration had taken their toll, so a great amount of expense had to be taken to refurbish some of the piers, and use new supports elsewhere. The bridge is part of a four-mile extension of the HOIT on the old railroad bed between Cambridge and Maxwell.
