Geocache Description:

Henry Bessemer was a prolific inventor and held at least 129 patents spaning from 1838 to 1883. They involved the manufacture of iron, steel, glass, sugar, cannon and ordinance.
He is best known for the "Bessemer Process" using air blown through molten ironto burn off impurities and create steel.

Bessemer also obtained a patent for casting metal between contrarotating rollers-a forerunner of today's "continuous casting."
