Klein Matopas Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Zambesiboy: Sadly the time has come to archive this cache. The Jeep track and then trail to the cache has overgrown and is no longer distinguishable. I do not want fynbos to be damaged in any way. Thanks to all who visited my special spot and thanks to the last cachetrfor taking the time to write to me about this. I live in the States now so was not aware. All the best and happy caching.

Geocache Description:

Matopas is a world renowned National Park in Zimbabwe.
It is famous for its rock paintings, caves and balancing rocks.

This special place and balancing rock reminds me so much of Matopas - hence the name.
The rocks seems very precariously balanced - nature is truly amazing.
I have often admired this feature when driving home from Cape Point
and always thought it deserves to be shared.
What better way to do that than with a cache!

When you park at the suggested waypoint your objective will be clearly visible.
Do not however be tempted to head straight for it.
There is no path other than the one I suggest.
The first half is on an old jeep track and the second part,
clearly marked by cairns, will take you right to the rock and cache.

The slight hill gives a wonderful view over much of the park.

This is a large cache with plenty space for trackables and trading.

Enjoy "my" spot!
