Geocache Description:

You are looking for a magnetic key holder.

The city of Natchez is the oldest city on the Mississippi River. The city leaders have developed a series of trails that go through the downtown area and along the river. Two trails, each about one and a half miles long, weave through the downtown area, stopping by many of the historic buildings, many which date back to the early 1800's and some even to the 1700's. There are signs located at these many locations describing the buildings and other interesting things located in the city - like a public water fountain that had a separate place for people to drink, dogs to drink, and horses to drink. The other two trails run along the Mississippi River, one on top of the bluff (3/4 of a mile long) and the other below the bluff (1/2 mile long). On the bluff, overlooking the Mississippi River and right in front of the Cock of the Walk Restaurant and Old South Trading Post, they built a small park with large maps of these sightseeing trails and the downtown area. I saw it and knew it was the perfect place to put a cache. The area where the maps are located is completely paved and under a covered roof. The cache is placed low enough to be wheelchair accessible (thus the 1/1 rating).
