We've been geocaching now for a year and the canal trails have been one of the most pleasant locations to cache. We've been here early spring when water level is low and late spring after growth and cover has blossomed and taken over the trail edges. At all times it's peaceful, scenic and great exercise for as long and far as you want to go.
You are looking for our first ammo box, not difficult to find, just a longer walk than we have put out to date. It is .75 miles from Orangeport parking (1 1/2 miles round trip) and 1.33 miles from N Canal Rd (2.7 miles round trip).
The trail can be walked or biked, no bushwhacking necessary. Enjoy your time here!
