Every time we see one of these old buildings, questions come to our mind. When was it built? Who lived here? Was it a family with lots of children? When was the building abandoned, and why? Did the occupants leave the area, or did they move to a brand new building? Are there any of the descendants still nearby? Was it a happy or sad place?
It is not necessary to go near this building to find the cache site, and we definitely would advise against entering the premises.
On the way to this cache, is a sign that tells us that the Westfield School was in use between 1912 and 1939.
We’ve been unable to find out any history about either the school or the building. Perhaps someone in this area can provide us with some information. If so, please contact the owner of the cache so that we can add it to the write-up.
