Pezzini: This one has disappeared so many times now, I'm archiving it. Still wish all the best for the NW Mega this year!

Geocache Description:

This cache, in an ammo box, was first placed to coincide with the “A Taste of the North-West” event on 1st August 2011. The initial contents had a north-west of England theme.

The organisers of the event are from the NW of England: they will be attending Mega Wales in Swansea the previous day, where they will formally take over the responsibility for organising next year's UK Mega event, which is to be held at Cartmel, in Cumbria. To help make them feel at home in Gnoll Park, we (representing local geocachers) have placed a geocache with contents having a NW of England theme.
But this does not mean that the Park is not worth visiting at other times. With it's extensive woodlands, lakes, play areas and other features, it is well worth exploring for an hour or two, while its elevated location makes it ideal for picnics.
The cache is located near the Formal Cascades in Fishpond Wood, about 300 metres from the car park or visitor centre. Apart from the final 15 metres, the route to the cache is on good paths. A parking charge of £1 a day was introduced in June 2011 – but you can always park in the road outside the entrance and walk up, adding about 300 metres (up hill) to the distance.
This cache has been placed with the kind permission of Neath Port Talbot Borough Council, who manage the Park.
