Geocache Description:

A nice easy cache with a cracking view over the river along the red road between largs and the Meigle.

The colour of the soil up here gives the road it's name and as a kid my nails were full of the stuff picking tatties in the fields nearby. Routenburn golf course, where Sam Torrence learned the game and Bob was pro, is on either side of the road as you come up from Largs.
If you are following the N. Ayrshire coastal path then you can pick it up on the way up to Knock hill and another couple of caches further on. Pick a good day for the walk and the view.
If not out for a walk it's an easy cache-n-dash.

If there are any signs of litter in the area log it and I will get on to NAC about cleaning the area up.
