Geocache Description:

[FIN]ETHÄN TYÖNNÄ PURKKIA TALVELLA IHAN SINNE PERÄLLE!!! Kesällä siitä ei niin ole haittaa =)

[FIN]Suomessa sanalla terva tarkoitetaan tavallisesti männyn kovassa kuumuudessa muodostunutta tummaa, paksua ja tahmeaa öljyä. Tätä mäntytervaa on vuosisadat käytetty muun muassa veneiden, laivojen ja rakennusten suojaamiseen vettymistä ja pilaantumista vastaan. Suomesta on tervaa viety kaikkialle Eurooppaan lähinnä laivoja varten.

[ENG]In Finland, the word tar usually means a pine tree intense heat formed in a dark, thick, sticky oil. This pine tar has been used for centuries, including boats, ships and buildings to protect against contamination and wetting. Finland has exported tar all over Europe, mainly for ships.
