When this area along the Palmetto Trail opened up for a new hide, I figured I ought to take advantage of it. As I was scouting the area, I happened upon the item you see pictured above. Creepy, ain't it? If you see it, you're pretty close to the cache (though the dead baby head itself is not the cache; if you try to open it, you'll find only an empty brain pan). You're looking for a medium-sized, camo-painted lock & lock container, large enough for a few small trade items and trackables.
A couple of notes: There is some ancient but still very prickly barbed wire nearby, so mind where you tread. Also—the hide is close enough to the trail that you will be visible to other hikers, so use stealth as needed. Please re-hide the cache carefully and securely, and don't stuff it full of dead babies. One is enough.
Congrats to The Border Reivers, FTF.
