About this park/green
space
Moses Gate Country Park is one of Bolton's
popular family visitor attractions, with around 350,000 visits per
year. With its 305 hectares of informal open space, woodland walks
, meadows, ponds and other habitats linked by a network of well
established and surfaced paths suitable for pedestrians, cyclists
and horse riders, Moses Gate Country Park has something for
everyone. The park has a long and varied industrial history with
its location close to rivers and later the Bolton, Bury and
Manchester Canal. This history explains the range of habitats found
on site which have resulted from re-colonisation following
activities as varied as gravel extraction and waste tips from
chemical works. The focal point of the site is the Grade II listed
'Rock Hall'.
Please Note
Please note, we (Jolly Crofters) have got written permission from
the Rangers from the Bolton Ranger team to place Geocaches in Moses
Gate Country Park on the condition that we first inform them of
where each of the caches are, and get their written permission to
go ahead and publish them. We also have to review these caches with
them on a regular basis. Please be careful when searching for these
caches as this is a Nature Reserve.
***The caches are near water - please
