Geocache Description:

NOTE: The cache is not located at it’s given coordinates, these will have to be calculated from the following information.

As the warmth finally arrived in Oslo, it was time to enjoy the green trees, colorful flowers and Not So Clean streets.
While walking my dog I couldn’t take the regular routes, since (I am not kidding you) the road was completely covered by dog poop. Yes, I said it. Poop.
Even Logan refused to walk there, and he’s not the kind of dog that usually cares about getting dirty.

So I started to wonder;
What is it that makes people not pick up the poop after their dogs? Bags are not expensive and I doubt anyone takes pleasure in getting dog waste stuck under their shoes.
And that made me think of you, my fellow cachers, who like me probably spends a lot of time out and about. What better way to start getting the dookies off the ground than with you?

I started searching for facts and doing some calculations.
Of the 600.000 people who live in Oslo, 10% of them own at least one dog. Sure, some own more than that, but let’s just say for the sake of math that they own only one dog each.
According to Google an average dog poop weighs 0.2kg. Some more, some less.
So let’s say everyone has one dog, and that those dogs poop twice a day (Understatement, I know). That would make 0.4kg of crap per dog every day.

To make this more than random numbers, I decided to compare it to something we all know, In this case Karl Johan’s Gate. I contacted Oslo’s Plan- og Bygningsetaten and asked for the approximate size of the street and they delivered.
Okey, we now have 0.2kg of poop that takes up just about 1dm2 of space. We also have a street with the approximate size of 15589m2 .
That means if every dog in Oslo did a number two twice a day on Karl Johans gate it would only take a little under 13 days to cover the whole street in poop!

Now I do know this is not an exact science, just like some people have more than one dog, some owners pick up after them.
This is for the ones that don’t.
Learn from this or remember that there’s only a matter of time before you step in some dookie yourself (There’s only so many places you can memorize, the odds are against you) and when you do, you’re not allowed to get angry, this is just the rest of us getting even.

Now, to the calculatin’ of the coordinates:
There will be no googling, for all the information you need is right on this page, maybe I’m evil, maybe I just want to make sure you read it all. Either way I win.

To find the correct coordinates answer these questions:

Statistical number of dog owners: A
Number of different words for Poop (Plural not included): B
How many days will it take to cover Karl Johan (rounded up): C
Do you pick up after your dog if you have one (guess which answer I want): D
YES=172 NO=272 SOMETIMES=372

Answer:
N 59 (A/1000 -7). (Bx133 + 3)
E 010 (Cx2 + 4xB). D

The cache is located in a popular dog walking area and you will most likely bump into at least one no matter which direction you arrive from. Who knows, maybe you’ll even bump into me.
