Geocache Description:

This cache is placed across from Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East. It is placed to honor all those that served in our military. The cache title is taken from the song “Some Gave All” by Billy Ray Cyrus, who grew up just a few miles away in Flatwoods, Ky.

Kentucky’s fourth veteran’s cemetery was dedicated on Sept. 10, 2010 eight days short from one year after groundbreaking ceremonies on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009. Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast is prestigiously located on 78 acres softly nestled in the Appalachian hills less than one mile from Interstate 64 on Highway 67 that connects Interstate 64 to US 23 at the border of Boyd, Carter and Greenup counties. The 78-acre Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast was built with $6.1 million from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Cemetery Grant Program. The cemetery will eventually have a combined total of 25,000 graves including columbarium for niches. Kentucky is home to 339,000 veterans. The cemetery serves veterans and their families from northeastern Kentucky, as well as those from southeastern Ohio and western West Virginia, supporting the federal goal of ensuring that a national or state veteran’s cemetery is no further than 75 mile radius from veteran’s families. The cache is a camoed pill bottle containing a log sheet, and a new Pathtag for the lucky FTF. Please use ultra stealth if there are muggles nearby. This area is sometimes used as a park and ride. Congrats to the Ratlliff Family on the FTF!
