From an mtb perspective, one of the main things that I like
about this track is the number of exposed tree roots. These can be
quite a challenge, especially when taken at speed and in the
wet.
Near the Raiha street end the track passes through a created
wetland area where native birds such as the Pukeko may be spotted.
While placing the cache I was also visited by several Tuis.
The Cache is a 560ml Xeonic container which is located
just off the track near to a sports ground and in the proximity of
some old ground maintenance equipment. There is no need to move or
otherwise manhandle this equipment to recover the cache.
When placed it contained the log, a pencil, a few trade items and a
small prize for FTF.
Given the secluded nature of the track and lack of lighting I
would recommend this being done in the daytime.
