I've enjoyed myself the last few times I have been in the Meldrum Bar and Dahl Parks. I'm not sure which park the actual cache location is in, but while looking up information for Meldrum Bar and Dahl Parks, I came across who Dahl Park was named for. Since I am the son of a Vietnam Veteran, I figured this puzzle cache would be appropriate to show the bravery of many men that fought and died in the war.
I won't give you the name of the man, but a little Google research should find the right site to get the information you will need. Also, Wikipedia will help get you the information, but don't rely heavily on the information there. There is another site I used to gather the related information to the honor he was bestowed.
The cache can be found at the following coordinates:
N 45° AB.CDE
W 122° VW.XYZ
1. What year did Congress create the Act that awards the Medal of Honor? Take the decade number to equal "Y" (example: 1928 - 2 would equal "Y").
2. What was date of the incident that prompted the decision to award the Medal of Honor to this recipient? The date equals "BZ" (example: August 15th - 15 would equal "BZ").
3. What was the number of the Company this person belonged to? The number equals "VCD".
4. What was the number of the Battalion this person belonged to? The number equals "AX".
5. What day is this man's birthday listed as according to the Medal of Honor citation? This day equals "W" (example: August 1st - 1 would equal "W")
6. How many grenades were thrown into the vehicle this man was riding in? This number equals "E".
Let us all think more about and honor the man that Dahl Park is named for. I know I will from now on. The coordinates I hope will be accurate enough to the cache. I think the hint should help.
Good Luck and Happy Caching!!
