This cache can be found near the driveway into Shelf Hall Park. It is not permitted to drive down this drive
If you haven’t already found this cache it can be done as the first on our Shelf Woods & Waterfalls series. The series consists of 9 caches which make a pleasant walk of approx. 3 miles. Please bring your own pen/pencil as some of the caches are too small to include them. Shelf Woods & Waterfalls #1 – By the drive but not a drive-by GC2Z0Z2 SWW #2 – Out of bounds. If parking here, take time to look at the Library building, it was built from bails of straw and has a living roof. A car park is also available down the Bridle Stile, be warned, the road surface is uneven Stealth may be required when locating this cache. The area is very popular with dog walkers. A word of warning – Once a year the Shelf Gala is held on the playing fields. The date for 2014 is Saturday 5th July. It will be busy. The cache contains a log only; you will need to provide your own writing implement.
