From "The First Cairn" follow your GPS cross country to "Slieve
Oughtmama". There is no trail or markings to follow so pick your
own route.
There are lovely views northwest to Abbey Hill, across Galway
Bay and on a day with good visibility you might even be able to see
the Connemara mountains. To the south you will see the 3 Oughtmama
Churches in the valley and Turlough Hill on the far side.
