Lost Railway Jernkroken -T&T-01- Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,
Cervis Venator

Geocache Description:

Lost Railway Jernkroken -T&T-01-

NOR:

About the cache:
This cache is located in the middle of a railway line, but there is no danger of being hit by a train! All that is left of this old railway line is the tracks on the bridge over the Østre Aker vei. The tracks are getting pretty overgrown, so be sure not to scratch yourself on the hunt for the cache :)

More info about what previously happened in Jernkroken (IronCorner), taken from wikipedia:
Grorud Jernvarefabrik was a Norwegian company that produced hinges, locks and iron anchors among more. Later they also worked with spring production, and manufacturing of a harness pin called Ideal, in addition to numerous of other products for industry and households.

The company was founded in 1917 by Ragnvald Bratz, who was CEO from 1917 to 1961. The founder's son, Jens Halvard Bratz, was managing director from 1961-1981, and was followed by his brother Bjørn Olaf Bratz from 1981-1992.

In 1960 the company started production in Consett, England, and experienced extraordinary expansion. The factory was in the Bratz-family ownership until 1996, when it was bought by the Swedish company Assa Abloy. Grorud Jernvarefabrik was in 1999 merged with the sister company TrioVing and the production closed down. The Grorud name however lives on in the UK as Grorud Engineering Ltd.
