Geocache Description:

Log Only Cache - BYOP

As an artist myself, I've been wanting to share this park with my fellow caters, for quite some time now. I've been noticing the number of parks growing in our ever- flourishing city. I just think that little, hidden parks like this one sprinkle a bit of artsy-happiness to an urban-city setting. Because this park opens and closes at specific listed hours, wanted to place this cache in a spot that is accessible at all times. (so if you see the gates closed, no worries, you can still cache & dash :)

Hours:
Tuesday & Thursday: 3:00p.m - 6:00p.m

The East Village Arts Park, a unique pocket park and showcase for local art. Association and local artists.

The park was designed for community art related events, and opened March 16, 2004. The park includes a raised stage area, a seating area with overhead trellis and a display/work area. Works by East Village artists in the park include the entry gates, and mosaic surfacing on the stage, and benches. The park was a collaborative effort with the City of Long Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine and Department of Community Development Redevelopment Bureau, Second District Council Office, the Public Corporation for the Arts, the East Village Association and local artists.
