There is already a cache on Monte Matanna but here's one for those who are not so athletic but still want to see a stupendous panorama.
From Albergo Alta Matanna follow footpath 5 to the cross. It might seem a steep climb but it is worth every moment when you get to the cross.
The climb is only about 100 metres (about 25 minutes) up to the saddle crest between Mt Nona and Mt Matanna. From here you can see right across to the coast but also to the pathway where visitors would be transferred from their hot air balloon to the hotel by horse and carriage about 100 years ago...before a hot air balloon exploded and put an end to this adventure!
But you will be up in the clouds yourself and can probably imagine such an adventure!
The cache contains log book and pencil, small toys and items and, at the time of hiding, Tinkly Bell the Cow TB.
