This is my fourth hide, celebrating my 40th find. The name of this cache, Lak'it, is the Chinook Jargon word for four. Since I live in Scappoose (the Chinook word for gravelly plain), I thought it would be fun to name my caches in Chinook.
The Crown Zellerbach trail was once a logging road and before that, a logging railroad. Today it is a linear county park. It is a rails to trails project that is progressing very slowly in my opinion, but it is a very welcome project. The park runs along a lot of private property, so be respectful, and stay on the trail. This is especially important when choosing your parking space. I've given parking coordinates which should keep you out of trouble.
I saw a video on this site about creative caches, and I decided that I wanted to try one. This is a copy of one of the caches featured in the video.
Stage One of this cache is at the posted coordinates. Inside it, you will find two clues which will lead you to the final stage. They are redundant. You only need one clue, but the creative clue occasionally malfunctions, so there is a back up clue. The final stage is about 18 paces from Stage One. This is out of range, so you have to take the clue back down the trail a little for it to work. The final stage is a 12-cup food storage container (regular cache).
Congratulations to Blazingthrewthewoods: first to find!
