Geocache Description:

The cache is in a small magnetic key holder and should be an easy find - only 2 steps at most off a well traveled and level path. There is ample Canal trail parking off of Bennetts Corners Road near the RR tracks in the Town of Van Buren. From there it is less than a 10 minute walk.

This being my 1st placing of a geocache, I thought of going with the 'fender bender' theme. As an avid walker/hiker in the hills, valleys, forests and trails of Central NY I've often come upon long abandoned farm machinery or transportation devices - or a myriad of their various and sundry parts. Hmmm . . . what history did these now quiet pieces of metal hold and for what reasons were they seemingly randomly placed where they lie?
