Geocache Description:

Years ago the glaciers left ledgestone in Petoskey. Some has been transported to Indian River and has been used in landscaping along the North side of Mack Avenue just past the kayak rental and gift shop with the blue roof; west of Straits Highway in the village of Indian River. Look for the large rocks on right. You may park in the parking lot or along the road. Enjoy.

Just past Indian River business on a side street where the road is paved and then turns to a 2 track lane where you can just see Burt Lake through the tunnel of trees. Head west toward the ledgestone landscaped area.. Pleasant walk past the resale shop and kayak rental with art gallery and store opening soon (blue roof). Just west of Straits Highway on Mack Avenue around the corner from the ice cream and chocolate shop. Even terrain of Afton Stone can be found in a scooter or wheelchair without going off road. Park in the Afton stone parking lot for the kayak rental or along the rock garden on the right (north side of road). You can also enjoy a walk through the village on your way to find the cache. Walk 2 blocks further down Mack and you are right next to Burt Lake where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset or a swim at DeVoe Beach just to the North. (access beach by car from Witt)
