Geocache Description:

Nice views of Mount Tamalpais and shorebirds in pools beside trail. There are benches along the way if you want to sit a spell and take in the marine air. This area not recommended during severe storms, especially if accompanied by a high tide. Look for worn glass, ceramics and bits of strange distorted material exposed along the shore.

The methane plant is recycling the old dump into new energy, and as the river wears the edges of the old dump away, old glass is "recycled" in to art.
At the rivers edge you will find a beach covered in old broken glass being worn smooth by the river. A lot of the nicest glass has already been picked up, but high tides and storms sometimes exposes new artifacts. There are a lot of interesting artifacts and strange fusions of unrelated objects.

When walking in this area, you're best off to walk on the dirt paths or the beach. The grassy, reedy areas have hidden hazards. If you walk on the beach keep an eye out for partially buried hazards, and while you're keeping your eyes on the look-out, you may spot some pretty and/or interesting specimens from the science "experiment" that are the conditions of an old dump!

Bear in mind you will NOT have to cross any fence or "Keep out" or "No Trespassing" signs to approach this cache site, and you won't have to bushwhack.

Cache contains log book, pen and SWAG including some nice samples of river worn glass. Be sure to replace as found. Thanks!
