Please be aware that most of these OT caches present a difficult problem with maintenance. If you attempt any of the caches in this series, it would be greatly appreciated if you are equipped with several replacement containers and plenty of logs. You will be right at ground zero, if C/O has to make a special trip to maintain any of these it would involve a round trip of approximately 50 miles and a hike of anywhere up to 9 miles round trip.
This is one of a series of caches along the Ouachita Trail north of Lake Maumelle. The trail winds its way through heavily wooded hillsides along the lake, but is seldom close enough along this stretch to actually see the lake. It’s a great trail to hike and if you’re lucky you may see deer, armadillos, various other creatures and perhaps even a snake. The area is full of poison ivy, but if you stay on the trail it is easy to avoid. I tried to hide all of the caches in places where PI was either absent, or was not likely to encroach on the cache. Have a pleasant hike, and take plenty of water…..especially in hot weather.
