Geocache Description:

Another cache to get you exploring the delights of Dalrymple. . This is beside the river so, no need to state the obvious.

Back in the 1800's you would have had a good view of the Casillis Saw Mill across the river, on the site of the mill now stands the buildings associated with the fish farm. There was also Cassilis Mill and some of the buildings from the mill still remain a bit further West from where you should be. . On this side of the River Doon there is Barbieston Cottage dating from the early 1800's which you can still see from the footpath today and further East on the other side of the Dookie stood the Barbieston Corn Mill, this was gone by the late 1800's. . The Dookie is the part of the river a bit further East of where you are, if you follow the river path, it opens out into a grassy area, with fishermans benches. This is the Dookie, the perfect spot for some swimming and no doubt enjoyed by the local kids in previous centuries as it is still today. . Now for the cache it is a nano in a micro. Don't worry you don't have to touch the drain that goes into the river here. .
