Geocache Description:

Adding to the Sumner County cemetery series. This cemetery is located on Tyler Rd between 90th & 100th N. The road signs indicate it is Pleasant Hill Cemetery although some maps refer to it as Attebery Cemetery. Cemetery is located in Jackson Twnshp. From Rome it is 2 1/2 miles W and 1/2 mile south.

In a Warranty Deed dated April 3, 1882, James L. Hodges and wife Nancy L., deeded the following land to Horace J. Hawley, Harland Attebery and Thomas M. Wood as Trustees.

The name change of the cemetery is noted in this Warranty Deed dated March 26, 1910, Luella F. Stewart, a widow, deeded the following described land to W.F. Attebery, W.W. Thompson and C.D.L. Walcher, Trustees of the Attebery Cemetery or what was known as Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

A warranty Deed dated year 1951 still shows this 2 1/2 acre tract being EXCEPTED for cemetery purposes.
The price of $5.00 for 5 burial spaces has never changed. The oldest legible marker was that of Effie Davis who died Oct. 19, 1878.

You are looking for a camo-taped pill bottle in the SE corner. It contains a log only, but has room for small trackables or trinkets. You do not necessarily have to enter the cemetery to get this cache but I would recommend taking some time and looking around. Please show respect to those that buried here and the property.

Congratulations to Claymate for the FTF!
